Lawrenceville Dental Group: Dr Bill Williams On A Mission

Lawrenceville Dental Group: Dr. Bill Williams Mission To Kenya

- Kenya Mission 2010
by Dr. Bill Williams

A Lawrencevlle Dental Group under the direction of Dr. Bill Williams, from Suwanee Dental Care, set out on this mission as recorded by his blog entry here..

Is A Kenya Dental Mission In Your Future?

Can you imagine pulling 645 teeth in a week, especially if you are just a freshman in dental school?

Who would have thought that ten years after our initial landing in Kenya for our first dental mission to the legendary Masai tribe that we would be celebrating Kenya Medical Outreach’s 15th mission trip with a KMO alumni cookout at our home in Suwanee, GA and planning our 16th for the summer of 2011?

Why do we fly eight hours to London, nine hours to Nairobi and drive six hours over tarmac and dirt roads to reach the “Forgotten People” of Olmekenyu?

Why do 23 Americans from all walks of life save, sacrifice, do odd jobs, send out letters for support, fundraise, and do whatever it takes to gather the $4000 it takes to go on the mission trip, some year after year after year?

Why would a young Masai man escort his wife 40 kilometers across the border from Tanzania to the remote village of Morijo in Kenya arriving in the dead of night to see the mission team from America?

Why would 2000 people line up outside out hospital clinic in the heat of the African summer on the equator?

Why would our full time missionaries in Kenya wait with Leonard, our patient from Olmekenyu who had his nose eaten away by tuberculosis, for six days in a dank, dark Nairobi hospital while the boy was examined and the diagnosis confirmed?

Well, the questions could go on and on, but the bottom line is that we offer hope to the tens of thousands who live in the land of the Masai Mara and its surrounding environs. We came to a long forgotten area of Kenya over a decade ago and we never left. Many years have passed; many have traveled to this exotic land with us. Typically, one third of our 20-25 Kenya Medical Outreach mission teams are alumni now, one third are our friends from our area (Atlanta, Georgia) who have never been on our mission, and one third are, amazingly, strangers who found out about our trips from either the Suwaneedental.com or Kenyamo.com web site. They take a leap of faith and sign up with us sight unseen. Our team members have come from California, Florida, Missouri, Boston, Dallas, Mississippi, the Carolinas, Tennessee and beyond.

The makeup of our team is typically this: one dentist (DMD or DDS), maybe two, a few pre-dental students, some high school students, several teachers or housewives, a physician (MD or DO), three nurses (RN or LPN), perhaps a dental hygienist (RDH) and either a nurse practitioner (NP) or a psychian’s assistant (PA). Pastors, businessmen and pharmacists may round out the group in any particular year.

What is a typical day like on the mission field? In Olmekenkyu, we built three bunkhouses and have a kitchen / dining hall for serving our team breakfast. The number of patients for dental and medical services builds as the morning dawns and by 8:00 a.m. fifty are in line.

We finish our toast, boiled or fried eggs, Kenya tea and by nine o’clock when we begin seeing patients, there are three hundred in the line. We divide into medical, dental, optometry, worming stations. Some of our team hike up the hill to the Olmekenyu Primary School to work with the students, teach, lead Bible Study, or meet with the school administrators about projects we support like water tanks, glass window installations for classrooms or concreting floors.

The Lawrenceville Dental Group team is six or seven team members strong. We work with a local dentist, Dr. Daniel from Narok, as our coverage on the mission and we have an ample number of surgical instruments donated by Dr. Arun Nayyar and others to perform extractions, although we have my portable Asceptico dental unit for fillings and scaling. Our system is this: we numb ten patients, extract, numb ten patients, extract, numb ten patients, extract. We go for hours like that, doing mostly simple extractions, sometimes surgical extractions and an occasional filling or ultrasonic scaling. Tea time is honored as our team takes a break at 11:00 a.m. and then lunch at one or two in the afternoon. Our team usually has a designated camp cook and the food is generally outstanding, even when local produce and meats such as chicken, lamb and goat are in the offering.

The experience for non-dental folks in the dentistry department is memorable. Getting up-close and personal with the how-to and techniques of exodontia is a certainty. Pulling a tooth is common for lay folks on our mission trips. Dental students become fully capable and competent to handle almost any extraction after being on one of our mission teams. The experience is worth a fortune to any dental student ready to graduate into the real world of private practice; just ask Matt Milner from the Medical University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, Hubert Park from Tufts University School of Dentistry or Caroline Norment from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry.

The opportunity to give back to others who have no ability to receive but by the grace of God those dental services we offer is why we do what we do. In the areas we go to, there is no dentist, no physician to see them; there are no instruments, no supplies, no anesthetics, no clinics where people can seek help for even a simple tooth ache. They are left with primitive options by untrained nurses who have inadequate tools for the job. Where we go, we try to train the nurses and give them a set of proper instruments for tooth removal. We show them the techniques for gaining adequate dental anesthesia so that their extractions are painless.

It’s the least we can do because we’ll be gone in a few days….until next year.

In Kenya, at the equator, the sun sets at six o’clock, so we try to be completed by then each day. More than once we’ve worked by flashlight in the dark. Each day we may see over 100 dental patients and 200 medical patients in our clinics. Its rewarding as well as tiring. The dinner hour is a time of reflection on the day and talking about what transpired in our individual clinics. Man, the stories we hear - the tales that are told! There is never a dull moment on mission in Africa.

Dental Missions Overseas

The many mission trips Dr. Bill and Sheila Williams take are really inspiring with pictures, past trip stories, and testimonies all found inside Suwanee Dental Care's website.

Dr. Bill Williams leads the dental corps to build the dental clinic and serve the needs of the local population of 30,000 that surround the clinic in Olmekenyu.

Local people would get word about the dental clinic in Morijo, and would walk, often from 10 or 20 km to get to the clinic.

The Growing Mission:

  • Build a medical clinic (begun 2000).
  • Partner with the nearest government hospital in Narok.
  • Evangelism.
  • Provide clean drinking water well.
  • Build a dental clinic
  • Start a school (completed 2004).
  • Start a church (completed 2001).
  • Buy land to develop the market to support the clinics (completed 2002).
  • Train local people to staff the clinics (2 nurses employed as if 2004).
  • Bring expert help from the USA to assist in the clinics.
  • Teach basic hygiene (begun 2004).
  • Begin a Bible Institute (begun 2003).
  • Bring "Walk to Emmaus" to Kenya (First walk of Tembea na Yesu was June 2004 in Sotik).
  • Expand to additional communities (Olmekenyu in 2000, Sotik in 2002, Morijo in 2002).

One thing you'll notice when dropping into the

Suwannee web site is one of the "most information-laden web site in dentistry."

Dr. Williams has been a long time student of internet marketing in addition to all his other activities, and it shows by his work online from Social Media, to Videos on YouTube, to Blogger Blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

No doubt, Johns Creek dentist, Dr. Bill Williams has learned the key behind DTC Ministry Marketing's passion of harnessing the power of the internet for promotion and profits, all the while leading with a spirit of excellence!

Ideas For Raising Money For Charity

Raising Money For Charity

Have you looked for a solution in your quest for raising money for charity or a non-profit group? I know the strain and struggle it can be to ask people for money, no matter how great the non-profit or charity group is.

With the economy sputtering, it can make raising money for charity a challenge to say the least.

I spent over 15 years in a ministry which had to raise the majority of funds to keep it in operation. While I enjoyed working in this field, the time working the "sharathons" were quite draining and demanding as we asked for financial help.

A "Global Vision" Solution

So it's with great joy that I can direct non-profit groups, ministries, and other worthwhile charity organizations to the company called OurGV.

The founders of OurGV Inc. represent a combined 30 plus years of building successful businesses from the ground up. Frustrated with the lack of integrity, and seeming unwillingness of companies to take care of their most important asset, their people, a decision was made to start a new company. One that would be dedicated to having a positive impact on the world.

Taking every last ounce of their knowledge and expertise, the long process of research and development began. After several years of painstaking research and testing, OurGV.com was born.

OurGV stands for Our Global Vision, and that's exactly what the founders have. This company has what is proving to be the "single most powerful fund raising tool in world history."

If you are raising money for charity or a ministry, I believe OurGV Inc. is worth checking into, so your group could raise money without having to ask people for more donations.

You simply ask them is to download a search toolbar and after that all it takes to raise money is for people to do simple internet searches and click on one of the sponsored results.

That might sound just too simple.

Online Ministry Video And Marketing

Simple Ministry Marketing Packages For Online Ministry

From: David and Theresa Croft
Monday 08:39am

Dear Brother Or Sister In Ministry:

Your heart to preach, promote, and gather provision for the vision can happen online. To help you do that, these Simple Ministry Marketing packages are set up to take advantage of proven video marketing strategies along with blogs, articles, RSS feeds, and Social Bookmarking to assist you in accomplishing these four goals:

Goal # 1 - Give you a specific place online with your Keyword domain name. This specific name will be set up as a Blog (wordpress.org), loaded with the latest strategic plug-ins to help make Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pinging, Social Bookmarking, Tracking and more, already built-in to work for you without you doing a thing! Your Blog and promotional page at http://Ministry-Marketing-Strategies.com will be set up for your ministry or group to obtain solid SEO rankings for your specific niche or ministry.

Goal # 2 - Help you be found online more easily to offer your services, books, or other resources for sale, not just in the United States, but world wide. Videos set up to garner high organic rankings on search engines.

Goal # 3 - Provide value and content with your blogs, videos, and articles to help you develop a worldwide audience online. You will be able to have a place where people can purchase your services or resources online.  You will be able to share your anointing to a greater audience!

Goal #4 - Start a precise e-mail marketing strategy that will build trust with your audience as you continue to provide value in your content. This will also give you an opportunity to present your services and resources (books, CD's, DVD's etc) to this base group, or list, as you continue to minister to them and/or provide more valuable content.

It's time to be like the widow in Isaiah Chapter 4, gather some vessels...and pour!

Our heart is to see you on your way to your destiny of playing your part for the Kingdom of God.  No, the Kingdom does not consist of flashy websites and blogs. But it does involve using the "vessels"and tools that are available today to be about the Father's business and The Great Commission: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...." (Mark 16:15)

So, that is why I developed these packages to fit into various ministries budgets, whether big or small. The main factor is to assist you to market with precise methods, not to market expensively.

Dave and I have prayed and fasted to make sure they are affordable for any ministry.

Online Ministry Video: Are You Online?

Discover The Power Of An Online Ministry Video Plan

The growth in numbers of people on the internet has spurred an interest in online ministry video for those serious about their vision.to impact the world for Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity to tap into the great harvest available online, to reach the uttermost parts of the world. As Jesus commanded:"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"

A powerful example of online ministry video can be seen by Streaming Faith, Lightsource.com, XP Media, among many other excellent ministries who see the advantage of using the internet for the Gospel.

Even the major Christian television stations have their programs readily available with video online, right down to applications for I-Phones and other smart phones.

No doubt people, whether at home or on their phone, are online. The fact that 60% of all internet traffic is video watching and that YouTube is the second largest search engine, should get any minister of the Gospel thinking about taking advantage of those watching eyes.

Or how about these stats from Comscore.com, the leader in measuring the digital world: “80 million U.S. Internet users watched online videoduring the month. YouTube delivered video to morethan 135 million viewers during the month, reaching 3out of every 4 online video viewers at an average of 96 videos per viewer.”

I love reading how leaders in the marketplace are seeing the amazing value of having a ministry marketing plan. Devin Maddux of ResonateOrDie.com states:

"But what if you adjusted your understanding of the word “marketing” to a more accurate definition? What if “marketing” could be reclaimed for the Gospel?

"Evangelical theologian and scholar Carl F. H. Henry once said, “The Gospel is only good news if it gets there in time.” As ministers of the Gospel, we need to be quicker and more persuasive than Madison Avenue. It is our mission, and it is your responsibility, to “market” your ministry if you are driven by the Great Commission."

Just recently I read another great blog post on this change today toward the internet in regards to ministry. Carol Howard Merit writes in her post "Virtual Community", (http://www.alban.org/conversation.aspx?id=9305),how she remembered 17 years ago when her husband worked in the computer department at Sam's Club. He came home one day talking about the super information highway coming on the internet, she recalled.

Now, the reality is here she concedes as she daily depends on the internet.

She writes: "Even though it feels like an either/or proposition—as if we must choose to spend time with either our church community or the computer—it is not. When I consider the carefully crafted emails about deep pastoral issues that appear in my inbox in the middle of the night, I know we cannot ignore the radical changes of the last ten years, nor can we disregard the evolutions in the years to come. Time on the computer is real ministry." (Carol Howard Merit).

The Online Ministry Video Program On FirebrandMinistry.com

Our online video ministry, called Firebrand Ministry, is set up on a Wordpress.org blog. I loaded it with lots of great built in mechanisms that not only help get it noticed by the search engines but also help us keep track of who is watching our videos.

For example, we are noticing an international audience growing with this online video ministry. Last week we had visitors from Germany, France, Pakistan, Tawain, China and Argentina…Just to name a few countries.

To learn more about establishing your own online video ministry, DTC Ministry Marketing has set up a basic training series introducing ministry online to Christian ministries.

Can My Ministry Do This?

You may wonder if your ministry could take advantage of the internet and really do this.

I say yes! And I see many great efforts by ministers with limited resources at the time.

Check out Firebrand's ministry partner from the UK, Evangelist Ben Bennett. By using simple audio and his own slide creations from photo shop, Evangelist Ben shares his heart and God's Word with his own online ministry video program. Most of his videos can be seen at his Facebook page as well as his own site.

3 Christian Marketing Steps Online Ministry

These three Christian marketing steps can be a great starting point whether you are looking to promote your ministry online or trying to earn extra money with your Christian home business.

I recently attended a seminar with internet marketing great Stephen Pierce, and special guest, Power Team International founder, Bill Walsh. I received amazing wisdom from these men who are at the top of their fields in internet marketing and network marketing businesses.

I took lots of notes and found these three business keys you can use in your ministry marketing steps or Christian home based business plan.

You can look at them as beginning steps for a ministry marketing plan online. You can also check out The Simple Ministry Marketing Training Series offered by Ministry Marketing Productions.

If you are ready to harness the power of the internet for preaching, promotion or profits, I believe these three points will prove beneficial to you to begin the journey!

A-C-T Three Ministry Marketing Steps

The three steps spell ACT:

  • A: A stands for assess. This means assess where you are now in your ministry marketing or work from home business. Are you in the beginning and wondering where to go? Or are you in the middle with frustration and aggravation because you see no results, no traffic, no resources gained?

Just acknowledge where you are and go on from there. Don’t condemn or judge, just use this as your starting point.

  • C Choose to act. Choose to begin to make good choices on what to feed your mind. Choose positive images and words. Make a choice that you are going to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and you are going to walk out that faith with work! Words are so powerful. Life and death is in your tongue!

In addition, choose wisely with the coaches and mentors who can play a role in your ministry or business plan. Commit to not just learning but applying what you learn. To learn means you have to act. Act means work.

Commit and recommit every day to maintaining your relationship with God. Yes, it is a pivotal role in your ministry and business! God can download information, wisdom and strategy in your time with Him in the Word, like no other person. He can help you refine your sskills you do have. He can download HIS favor at a moments notice. He can set you before the right people at the right time to make your destiny not just a dream but a reality.

Choose personal development as a priority. That might mean attending a seminar, from Dani Johnson to Kenneth Copeland….to a free blogging course! God will reveal the mentors and teachers to you. You simply have to choose to trust Him for the provision, direction and simply GO…choose to ACT…WORK!

  • T Be thankful. Find joy in your journey today. Don’t let your longing for something in the future slay your appetite for living today! Don’t allow your present circumstances determine your future.

God will prepare you for your destiny. Don’t freak out during the preparation. The process is the preparation for your destiny!

Think about it. Would a father give his 11 year old son keys to his NASCAR style race car? I think not.

If he was grooming his son for a racing career, I believe he’d start with the small racing style cars and work his son up from stage to stage to get to that NASCAR car.

Imagine the thrill of that Father when he sees his son (or daughter) be patience, work and learn how to be the best race car driver each stage of that destiny. (I wonder if this is how the late Dale Earnhardt felt about his son?)

Finally, remember that the One Who has given you the vision will provide the provision. Where God calls, He enables.

    Some final thoughts:

"Our words are containers. They contain our destiny." – Jesse Duplantis

"No one’s opinion is as important as your destiny." – Stephen Pierce

God calls us not to be mountain climbers, but mountain dissolvers!" – Jesse Duplantis

Dr. Barry Lee Available To Minister In Your Area

Dr. Barry Lee Available To Minister In Your Area Anointed And Powerful Receive An IMPARTATION of The Anointing

Introduction by Dr. Mark J. Chironna

"Dr. Barry Lee is a pastor in our global network of churches and church leaders. Barry began to participate with us a few years back. I have come to know he and his wife intimately in the last eight years and value them deeply.

Dr. Barry Lee is a competent pastor, preacher, and teacher. Barry has an earned doctorate in theology, is a student of the Scriptures, and exhibits profound proficiency in his exegesis of a text and his delivery.

He is a compassionate and caring individual who loves people and goes out of his way to be a servant who leads as opposed to a leader who serves. In today's environment that is crucial to healthy development of leadership and those that work with leadership.

Dr. Barry Lee has great people skills and is extremely personable. It is difficult not to like Barry, and very easy to love Barry. He is a man of integrity and will swear to his own hurt and not change, even when his character is falsely accused.

Dr. Barry has a heart for cultural diversity and in his ministry he has successfully bridged the gap between races, classes, and genders. This is crucial in the post-modern world if we are to genuinely model reconciliation and reach the harvest that God intends to gather through His Church. He is one of the greatest apostolic and prophetic voices in the nation and I count him more than a co-laborer in the gospel; I count him a faithful friend."

Is There Life After Meth? Part 1 - Video Ministry

Is There Life After Meth? Part 2 “The Heidi Series”

Is there life after meth?

Firebrand Video Ministry presents “The Heidi Series” Part 2, a special message of hope for those who are struggling with an addiction, or parents who have daughters and sons chained to drugs.

Listen to Heidi as she shares a powerful testimony of VICTORY in Jesus over this monster of a drug, called “meth”.

“….the second my heart was in it (for recovery), that’s when God started to make it clear. That’s when He started moving all the obstacles, all the mountains out of the way…Bringing restoration where there should not have been restoration. It just took my heart being committed. If you are struggling with that, release yourself from having to be perfect. God doesn’t expect you to be perfect. He just wants your heart bent toward Him. All it takes is your heart toward HIM!

Check out this video as Heidi and Pastor Dave answer questions to uncover keys to unlock the door of bondage to ultimate freedom in Jesus Christ.
